With the magic of loop pedals and collaborative imaginations, Family Mansion creates an energetic, original and dynamic sound, while remaining a true duo.
Matt Combs sings lead vocals while holding down the midi bass parts and being a one-arm drummer. Combs's vocal style is often likened to Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie and to Shawn Harris of The Matches. His three-brains performance is absolutely captivating! Laura Sullivan sings backing vocals while running loops and playing guitar that is at times chill and laid back, and at times riffy and in-your-face. Together, the two young musicians perform vocal harmonies that seem to dance around the room in a hopeful, colorful motion. Lyrics range from heady, personal feels to big, bright, idea-driven celebrations. Their stage presence, aside from being adorable, is stirring and pure. They just simply cannot hide how much they enjoy playing these songs together.
Family Mansion is a beautiful combination of truth, anxiety and hopefulness toward the ever-evolving life experience.
